Oh, the horror

I'm a rabid sports fan. Just a touch out of normal. In college, before DearWife stole all of my attentions, I could tell you (and this is not an exaggeration) the current stats, position, years in the league, college, college position, and college stats for every player in the NBA. All this while pulling a 'C' in History of Western Civ I (a course in my major).

When the Bears play a meaningful game, I tend to yell. A lot. Should they lose said game, it can ruin a whole week for me.

Now the White Sox make the playoffs. It creates a kind of paradox for me. I don't want to get too excited. If they lose in round 1, which is a good possibility, I don't want to sulk for 3 months. But if I can't get too excited, what's the fun in being a fan?

Unfortunately for Dear Wife, I'm not signing off on sports anytime soon. I'll just have to suck it up and act like an adult should the Sox lose.

In other news, I was working up a monster ethics/privacy sports related thread until the story got quashed. Eddy Curry might have a potentially fatal heart ailment. The Bulls wouldn't sign him unless he did everything to rule out (or in) the condition. That included a DNA test, that Curry's lawyer got upset about.

It could have turned out to be a huge national issue. Unfortunately, Isiaiaiaiaiah Thomas, the worst GM in the NBA traded for Curry, and is signing him to a HUGE contract. So that's the end of that issue.

I'm off to the WS games today and tomorrow. Go White Sox!

You and I spell things differently.
You spell it A-T-T-E-N-T-I-O-N.
I spell it T-E-S-T-I-C-L-E-S.
