Then that happened

The other day, I was innocently driving to work. The express way is under heavy construction, so I got on to the 'express' lane. Which meant about 20mph. Right as I got on, there was a car by the side of the road. I glanced over for a second, and when I looked back the guy in front of me had stopped short. That's a fancy way of saying I thought he wasn't going to stop while I glanced away for a second.

So I slammed on the brakes, and hit him. He was still in the process of stopping, so the back end of his car was up, and I went under his bumper for the most part. He went into the guy ahead of him. Then the guy behind me hit me.

No one was hurt. But, as you can see in the post below, my car is D.E.D. dead. I got a call from my insurance agency just now that we can get a check as soon as we decide. At least I have a Dodge Charger as a rental.

So I'm thinking of getting a Mazda M3 or a Scion xB, although on a friend's recommendation, I'm checking out the Subaru Outback.

The last thing I\we need right now is another car payment.

I think you are drawn to the box shaped vehicles because they already looked squished -

I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the room and versatility of hte Subaru Outback . . . make sure to get the roof rack with all those boys ;)

FWIW, we've got a Mazda 3, and I really like it. It's a lot of fun to drive, and actually one of the better MPG cars out there (according to our driving patterns and Consumer Reports).

Glad you are ok Mr K. Everyone I know who has had a Subaru has loved it. I drove a Scion on our trip to San Diego/Mexico last year and it was a fun car. If it is just the Khyle for work car the Scion would probably work out great.

But then what the hell do I know? Kim has told me that our old Sangria Red sedan is now the bar car/ my work car so maybe I am the wrong person to offer advice here.
